The Toronto Blue Jays will host the Milwaukee Brewers for their interleague series finale this Thursday from the Rogers Centre. Milwaukee took Game two after controlling the entire contest, 4-2.

Brewers Betting Preview

Milwaukee moved to 29-26 after defeating Toronto. The Brewers closed a tough month of May on a good note, and they’ll look to leave Canada with a victory Thursday. The Milwaukee offense is 4.56 scoring runs per Game, while batting .231, with a .307 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.95 ERA, with a 1.31 WHIP. Owen Miller produced a pair of runs in the Game two win, and he leads Milwaukee in batting (.328). Christian Yelich has a hit in seven of the last ten Games, and he leads the Brewers in hits (48) and runs (36). Rowdy Tellez is hitless against his former team, but he leads the team in homers (12), with 26 RBI.

Freddy Peralta (5-4, 4.64 ERA, 58 Ks) will take the mound for Milwaukee. The sixth-year pitcher is coming off of his toughest outing of the season against San Francisco, allowing eight hits and  four earned runs in 2.1 innings pitched. Freddy P has been much more stable than that this season, pitching six quality starts in his first ten appearances, but he may face another uphill battle with the Toronto lineup.

Blue Jays Betting Preview

Toronto enters at 29-27 after falling to Milwaukee. The Blue Jays couldn’t get anything going last night, and they’ll look to turn things around in Game three. The Toronto offense is scoring 4.85 runs per Game, while batting .266, with a .334 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.95 ERA, with a 1.29 WHIP. Bo Bichette has recorded multiple hits in six of the last Games, and he leads the team in batting (.338) and hits (79). Kevin Kiermaier produced one of the two runs for the Jays last night,  and he’s second on the team in BA (.319). Vlad Guerrero Jr. plated a run in the Game victory, and he up to 35 RBI.

Kevin Gausman (3-3, 3.03 ERA, 89 Ks) will get the call for Toronto. The tenth-year pitcher earned his third victory of the season last week in Minnesota, after striking out eight over 5.1 innings of work, and containing the Twins to one run. Gausman has been exceptional at home this season, delivering a quality start in all four outings, and going seven innings or longer each time out. Gausman has also cleared ten strikeouts in three of those four outings.

Milwaukee vs Toronto Trends

Milwaukee is 26-29 against the spread this season, with a 24-29-2 O/U record. Toronto is 26-30 ATS this year, with a 27-26-3 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Toronto let Milwaukee control Game two, but with a trustworthy advantage on the mound, they have a good chance to win this series Thursday. Kevin Gausman has been in peak form at the Rogers Centre this season, and with the Brewers still struggling at the plate, I like leaning on another strong outing from him here. Freddy Peralta has been a bit shaky on the road this season, so while there’s a chance of a pitcher’s duel, back Toronto to take Game three.
