Animal rights group says chickens were abused, but Tyson Foods cut ties with the farm on its own

An animal rights group says a Virginia farm that raised chickens for Tyson Foods mistreated the animals An animal rights group said Wednesday that a Virginia farm that raised chickens for Tyson Foods mistreated the animals, allowing some of them to go without feed and water at times. But Tyson says it cut ties with the farm in January after it uncovered animal welfare issues there on its own. The group, Animal Outlook, said it had an investigator working undercover at Jannat Farm from August to November of last year observing as 150,000 birds were raised from chicks until they were ready for slaughter. In addition to seeing chickens go without feed for up to 52 hours, the group said it documented instances of physical abuse and filthy conditions at the farm. The Associated Press could not immediately locate a contact at the farm itself. A spokesman for Springdale, Arkansas-based Tyson, which processes 20% of U.S. beef, chicken and pork, denounced the conditions Animal Outlook document...

Nottingham Forest 1-0 Arsenal: Player ratings as Awoniyi strike seals Premier League safety

Nottingham Forest sealed their place in next season's Premier League campaign with a 1-0 win over Arsenal that also handed the title to Manchester City in the process. Mikel Arteta introduced a strange new system which left the Gunners looking completely disjointed from start to finish, and Taiwo Awoniyi's first-half goal will go down in History as one of the biggest in recent History . A full-throttle start from Forest led to some nervy moments for Arsenal, but the Gunners found their footing eventually and started to play some delicious Football . Keylor Navas got out quick to end one such move but was a little fortunate as Gabriel Jesus' header lofted up and narrowly onto the roof of the net. It was Forest, however, who drew first blood. Morgan Gibbs-White led an electric counter before slotting through Awoniyi, who was fortunate to deflect Gabriel's attempted clearance back into an open net. With a Forest win enough to secure survival for the hosts and deliver the...

Jurgen Klopp explains why touchline ban can be 'super helpful'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted he is looking forward to watching his side take on Aston Villa from the stands on Saturday as it gives him a better view of the action. Klopp was handed a two-game touchline ban, the second of which is suspended until the end of the 2023/24 season, for his comments about referee Paul Tierney, who he accused of bias after April's 4-3 victory over Tottenham. It means Klopp will be stuck in the stands for Liverpool's final home Game of the campaign against Aston Villa on Saturday, but the boss insisted he is only thinking about the positives of his punishment. "From a watching point of view it is [a] much better position to see the Game , it was with the Southampton Game and it was super-helpful to see the Game from there," Klopp told his pre- Game press conference. "Nobody will shout like me at them if they don’t track back but I will tell the boys if they don’t want me to do that in the future they just have to do th...

Aston Martin insist Mercedes components aren't limiting performance

Aston Martin Technical Director Dan Fallows says his team are very happy with the components they receive from Mercedes. In addition to using Mercedes power units, Aston Martin also take on the gearbox and rear suspension from the Brackley outfit, and currently use the Silver Arrows' wind tunnel while Aston's own facility remains under construction. Aston Martin have made a great leap forward in competitiveness this year, and currently sit second in the Constructors' Championship with 102 points, six ahead of Mercedes. But despite currently outperforming the Silver Arrows, Aston Martin have no issues with the quality of the components that they receive, according to Fallows. "We're very happy with what we get," Fallows told media, including TheFOXposts.Com . "We obviously have gearbox and rear suspension, and the power units as well. "We, as engineers, obviously work around the constraints that we have, but so far I find absolutely ...

Bagnaia admits MotoGP sprints helping his title defence after three DNFs

Image
Bagnaia was wiped out in a collision with Maverick Vinales while the pair battled for third on the fifth lap of last Sunday's grand prix at Le Mans. The incident marked Bagnaia's third Sunday DNF in the first five rounds, having crashed out of second in Argentina and the lead in America. But the Ducati rider still holds a one-point championship lead, thanks in large part to his strong sprint showings. Of the 96 points Bagnaia has scored, 44 of those have come from sprint results, with the Italian winning two, scoring podiums in two and sixth in the other. "For sure the sprint race helps, because without the sprint race, I would be so far behind," Bagnaia conceded after the French GP. "I have 50 points [from grands prix]. I have 44 points just from the sprint, so this for sure helps. "But this year it's quite clear that we are always in the front, we are always there leading, and the other riders are circulating in terms of performance, which ...
